Workflow

Workflow is a representation of the process,  or the states associated with an issue as it flows through the organization. A  workflow is composed of a series of states  and transitions, as illustrated with circles and arrows in Fig. 1.  The status field  in each ProblemTracker issue record  represents the current "state" of that record.

ProblemTracker workflows are customizable by your organization  to reflect its processes.  You can define the states and the transitions for each state; i.e.,

  • the next states 
  • the new assignee
  • task fields - which fields in the problem record need to be updated by the user
  • whether a history comment is required
  • email notifications
