Automatic Rule-based Email Notification
ProblemTracker (PT) and PTEE automatically notifies the users that need to act on an issue.

You can customize email and pager notification:

  • which actions (e.g. adding a record, editing a record, change of assignment or status) trigger an email
  • which users and/or user groups receive messages

Different rules can be applied to each product.

PT  makes sure that nothing falls through the cracks.

Discussion (PTEE only)
User can create discussion threads for each issue.  PTEE will automatically invite and notify participants.  

Users can thus collaborate on issues without the need for meetings that require everyone to be at the same place and same time. 

As a result, 

  • better knowledge sharing and easier reuse of best practices
  • faster and more effective idea generation, problem solving, and issue resolution.

Alerts and Escalations  (PTEE only)
PTEE
 can automatically escalate when issue has not changed state in a designated period of time

  • Can be set based on a date field (e.g. 4 hours after Reported Date, 2 hours before due date) or set for a specific date and time (e.g. June 12, 2pm)

PTEE makes sure that issues are addressed and escalated at a timely fashion .
